Pickerel (or Walleye), Bass, Small Mouth Bass and Northern Pike are caught in our three lake system.Doe Lake is the largest lake in the Almaguin Highland area of the Magnetawan River system. It actually consists of three bodies of water: Little Doe Lake to the north connected by a narrows (Mid Doe Lake) to Big Doe Lake to the south.
From the GTA, getting to Doeview Cottages will take about 2.5 hours. It’s an easy drive, just follow these directions:
1. Take Hwy 401 to head to Hwy 400
2. Take Hwy 400 North
3. Take Hwy 11 North
4. Keep on Hwy 11 North for about 1.5 hours. You’ll pass by Orillia, Bracebridge and Huntsville.
5. Once you pass Huntsville on your right, keep on Hwy 11 North for another 20-25 minutes.
6. Take Exit 252
7. At the stop sign, take a left onto Doe Lake Road
8. At the next stop sign, keep going straight.
9. You’ll go over an one-way bridge and will come across Ferguson Road. Take the right onto Ferguson Road.
10. Stay on Ferguson for about three minutes. You’ll see a sign for Doeview Cottages on the left. Make the turn down the long driveway.
