Introduction

Stupidity, ignorance, stubbornness and cowardice of a man has put the future of South Korea on the sacrificial alter for the glory of the Japanese emperor.

On March 16, President of South Korea Yoon Suk-yeol went to Tokyo to meet with Japanese Prime Minster Kishida. This was the summit which Yoon has been begging like a beggar ever since he took office since May 9, last year.

At this summit, Yoon obtained nothing of value and, instead, he gave everything of vital importance for the security, sovereignty and the pride of Koreans. The vast majority of Koreans think that Yoon is the worst traitor to Korea and Koreans race. Indeed, he is even a greater traitor than Lee Wan Yong who sold in 1910 Korea to Japan free of charge.

As far as I am concerned, what happened at the sum was the result of the pro-Japan Koreans and anti-Korea Japanese conspiracy and the betrayal of Japan. The conspiracy was about the exchange of political gifts. Korea would present a cup half filled with gifts with Japanese gifts which would fill the remaining half of the cup. This was, in fact, the statement of the Korean foreign minister, Park Jin although he did not say it was a conspiracy.

But Japan has betrayed the conspiracy. It filled the other half of the cup asking even more Korean gifts.

1. Conspiracy and Betrayal

The Yoon Suk-yeol has offered to Kishida the following gifts.

• The justification of Japanese colonialism in Korea.
• The acceptance of the Foreign Minister Agreement of 2015 on the comfort women issue.
• The payment to the victims of labour slavery by Korean corporations not by the Japanese corporation who enslaved Korean workers, namely Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Nippon Steel Corporation.
•The Global Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) and bilateral military cooperation.

Justification of Japanese Colonialism:

The Yoon government representing the pro-Japan conservative South Koreans represented by the Yoon's government argue that Japan annexed Korea in 1910 in order to modernize Korea. Korea was not able to modernize itself due to the lack of will and the capability to do so. Therefore, Japanese colonialism was beneficial to Korea. This is precisely the argument of Japan.

Koreans view such view is act of traitors. Yoon has c destroyed the pride and the dignity of Koreans. 

This view of Yoon was the great relief for Japan, because Yoon's such view is very useful for Japan's warmongering conservative forces led by LDP for justifying its illegal annexation of Korea, using it for the propaganda of racial superiority of Japanese and popular support for Japan's scheme of new invasion of Korea. 

In other words Yoon's stupid attitude provided the excuse for the return of Japanese armed forces to Korea. In fact, Yoon's anti-Korea and pro-Japan perception of the Japanese colonialism was great gift given to Japan.

.Comfort Women: Yoon went to Japan hoping that Japan show remorse and apologise for raping more than 250,000 Korean girls during several years by Japanese soldiers. True, in the past, handful Japanese political leaders showed remorse:  Kono (1993), Murayama (1995), Obuchi-Kim joint declaration (1998), Koizumi (20005).

But in 2015, Shinzo Abe denied all these manifestation of apology or remorse. 

Fumio Kishida, current prime minister of Japan, was asked if he would apologise for the sex slavery. He answer was that he would follow the position taken by his predecessors, but he did not say which predecessor. The predecessor was most likely Shinzo Abe. But Yoon did not protest.

So the negotiation on the apology for sex slavery ended up with total victory of Japan. It is reported that even before the summit, Yoon sent someone to Kishida begging him to say a simple word of regret for the crime against the poor comfort girls. Kishida ignored such humiliating request. It was a total humiliating defeat of Yoon. 

Compensation payment for labour slavery: During the 35-year of Japanese illegal occupation of Japan in Korea, Japan committed countless war crimes against humanity. One of these crimes was the conscription of almost one million Korean workers forced to work in Japanese mines and factories under sub-human living conditions.

The negotiation between the former slave masters (Japanese corporations) the former slaves (Korean workers) for sincere apology and compensation has lasted for decades. At last, in 2018, the Supreme Court of Korea ordered two Japanese corporations- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the Nippon Steel to pay the compensations to the victims of the labour slavery. It was reported that these corporations were ready to pay the compensation, but the Japanese government told them not to do so.

You may not believe this. Since Japan refuses to pay the compensation to the victims, the Yoon's government has decided to make the Korean corporation to pay the compensation. Then, Korea will ask the Japanese corporation to pay later. This is ridiculous idea; the Japanese corporation will never pay. (다음 호에 계속)
