Colour Change : 60 - Leaf F

Algonquin - Report Date : October 13, 2021

Dominant Colour : Yellow
Colour Change : 100 - Leaf Fall : 80
Best viewing : Most Maples in the park are now bare. The understory of the forest, which is what you would see while hiking along the trails, has only some remaining leaves. The Birch and Aspen have turned yellow and started to drop their leaves. The few Oaks are starting to turn copper. Many Tamarack are starting to turn yellow.

Following high winds and rain, the majority of leaves have fallen off, and you will see mostly bare branches. The forest floor is still a beautiful carpet of red, orange and yellow leaves.

If you missed the maples, you may be just in time for the Golden Encore, Algonquin’s second peak of colours: http://www.ontarioparks.com/parksblog/algonquins-second-fall-colours/
