During the Korean War (1950-1953), Canadian troops were dispatched to help protect the freedom of South Korea. Of the 26,791 troops, 516 lost their lives and 1552 were injured. Koreans will never forget their noble sacrifice. Attached to these Rose of Sharon plants (the national flower of Korea) are 516 red ribbons commemorating and honouring the courage of all Canadian soldiers. Thank you, Canada.
